Antibióticos do Brasil was created in January 2003, when the American
multinational Eli Lilly of Brazil segmented its businesses into patented
and non-patented products. Since then ABL acquired the whole line of
hospital products
once owned by Eli Lilly, including one of the world’s most advanced plants
in the production of cephalosporin antibiotics.With a staff of 320
qualified professionals, ABL is proud to hold high standards of quality
and commitment to the customer, who was always the focus of the company.
In April 2003, ABL was incorporated into the
Italian group ACS Dobfar. One of the biggest companies on
the world market of APIs in the production of cephalosporin products. ACS
Dobfar has sales of 600 million dollars,approximately 1200 employees
and it’s been on the market for over 30 years.It presently owns 11 factories:
08 in Italy, one in Brazil, one in Switzerland and one in Korea.
ABL’s plant in Brazil is located 200 kilometers northwest of São Paulo
in a small town called Cosmópolis and its two sales offices are in São
Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. ABL’s focus is on the production of
injectable and oral cephalosporin antibiotics for the local and
international markets. With an income of 42 million dollars in 2004
and investments passing the mark of 60 million dollars since its
opening in 1982 then owned by Eli Lilly. ABL represents one of the
main companies in Brazil with know-how and assured quality to export
antibiotics to highly demanding markets, such as:
Argentina, Azerbaijan, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croacia / Eslovenia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, France, Greece, Honduras, Hong Kong, Italian, Japan, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, USA and Venezuela
The joint of both companies, Antibióticos do Brasil and ACS Dobfar,
is the result of two men, who shared the same dream: present
pharmaceutical solutions for the improvement of people’s quality of
life. Together, both companies offer to the local and International
markets, pharmaceutical products made with the highest standards
of quality and ethic principles, assuring respect for those who
directly or not, are involved with the company.
